    Description

    This is a true antique, one to be treasured for many generations. This is a 14K yellow gold sewing thimble with hand engraved floral design, and the words July 40 in upper corner prehaps the day this was made, a crown with the letter M inside it is also shown. When pierced from constant use, thimbles were taken to silversmiths for local repair, local silversmiths also made them in gold to last longer. This was found in the early 1900's. The thimble is size 8. Although fine needlework has a long history of being treasured, the tools used for creating the thimble were often lost or tossed. Each thimble is handmade and now a true collectible. Each one is unique in its on way, possible design can range from the area on which you lived, they are really amazing. Who would have thought of all the hard work these were used for back then and im sure still used from time to time.
    Circumfernce: 16.04mm / 20.77 high 14K stamp inside under top part. Weighs: 3.4 grams
