Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Early Working 1898 EDISON "Model GEM" Manual Hand Crank Wind-Up Table Top Cylinder Phonograph with Original Edison Gem Horn, made by Thomas A. Edison at Orange NJ USA, circa 1898. This is The Early Model of the Gem Which Did Not Have a Cover, and Used a Slotted Winding Key.It is Serial Number G32282, and Has an Oak Base Which Measures approx. 9 1/2" x 7 1/2", and is Approx. 8" Tall.
This Includes The Original Signed "Edison Gem" 8 Panel Black Morning Glory Horn! I Tried a Cylinder and Wound it Up and The Movement Turned and it Played the Cylinder Disk Correctly, and Played The Whole Song to The End. This is in Working Condition But Has Not Been Serviced, Sold As Found!!! The Reproducer is an Early 'Edison C' Reproducer, and Sounds Good! The Movement is in Good Condition, But Has Not Been Serviced, Sold As Found! I will Include a Cylinder Disk, as Pictured.
