    Description

FOR SALE: A Good Example of an Original Edison Cylinder Record Phonograph Model "S" Reproducer. The "S" reproducer is quite a bit rarer than the Edison Model "K" one and it has a larger diaphragm, so it is capable of playing even louder than most "K"'s would. I made sure that both styli are in good working order (and those aren't cheap to buy if you have to replace one or both of them!). The neck on this reproducer is still intact! Most examples of this model reproducer have had the neck broken or chipped off or had to have a new top piece put on them due to the neck being broken off in the past. There is some wear to the nickel plating, as is the case with many of these 110 year old parts (see the pics). The top of this reproducer does show some signs of swelling, but the neck size will fit a 14" black and brass bell horn or a larger morning glory horn with a support crane (using a rubber connector between the two). It fits in the carriage hole fine, since that part of the reproducer is not made of pot metal. This reproducer will work with the Edison Outside Horn Cylinder Record Phonographs that have the regular small size hole in the carriage (see pictures) and also have a 2 and 4 minute gear change (so that it tracks properly). This is a good working example if you have been wanting to have one of these.
Please note that the Edison phonograph shown in the pictures is not included in this listing. It is only shown to demonstrate how this reproducer is used on an Edison phonograph.
