This is a rare, original WWII commendation letter addressed to the commanding general of the 95th Infantry Division from Lt. Gen. George S. Patton, Jr. General Patton is commending the 95th Infantry Division, which was part of the Third U.S. Army, for its role in capturing the city of Metz, France. The letter is dated April 16, 1945 and contains a facsimile of General Patton's signature. This letter was issued to Tec5 Willard Blair, a member of the 95th Infantry Division. Overall, this letter is in good, used condition. It shows slight signs of wear. Please see pictures to judge the condition of this letter.
